Green heart of Italy
Often compared to Tuscany for its landscapes, Umbria, thanks to the Apennines, has more relief. This region is also better preserved from tourism and has a more secret and authentic facet.
The main tourist attractions of the region are the villages, very well restored but still very medieval, as well as the architecture and monuments of the cities of art.
Moreover the region is characterised by large hills, mountains (the highest point in the region is Monte Vettore at 2,476 metres (8,123 feet)), and valley : the Umbrian valley ( Valle Umbra ), and the Tiber Valley ( Val Tiberina ) this is why the green heart of Italy will appeal to all nature lovers.
