This video explains how therapists' unresolved emotional issues can interfere with the therapeutic relationship and harm a client. Each of these situations has occurred in either my own experience or with someone I know. It may have happened to you. Countertransference does not have to harm the client, but it often does. Please consult your supervisor or get therapy yourself if you are having trouble controlling your emotions. It is not right to harm your client with your personal issues.
