Who’s actually giving out all these grants? Now, when you’re getting grants, you tend to think that the whole universe is your funder. I was working with the National Science Foundation-less than one percent of federal grants. But, to me, National Science Foundation, they’re the big dogs in the fight because they’re giving out all these grants. But that was the perspective of being in a community that was largely funded by the National Science Foundation. HHS actually gives out 73 percent of all the federal grants. So, if you don’t have a relationship with HHS in any of your funding, you might want to think about the projects we’re working on. Maybe we’re going to help kids after school through the Department of Education. But maybe there’s a healthy kids initiative that we could make a relationship with HHS as well. So, wherever you’re getting your funding from, or you want to get your funding from, don’t ignore the one most likely to fund a project, and that’s HHS.
