55 Years Ago, Three Sims Family Members Were Murdered in This House, the Case is Still Unsolved
641 Muriel Ct Tallahassee, FL 32303
On Oct. 22, 1966, while most neighbors were attending the Florida State versus Mississippi State football game, Dr. Robert Sims, his wife Helen, and their 12-year-old daughter Joy, were bound, gagged, stabbed, and shot in this house. Their older daughter Jeanie discovered their bodies when she arrived home around at around 11 p.m. that evening. Authorities ruled out theft because the house was not in shambles and valuables were not stolen. Authorities also believe the Sims knew their murder and even let them into the house.
Although there were some suspects, no one has been charged.
Florida does not consider a prior death in the home, even when the cause of death is homicide or suicide, to be a material fact that must be disclosed. Additionally, No legal action shall be taken against an owner or his agent for failing to disclose.
