The highest paved road in North America is in Colorado on Mt. Evans, on the summit road. Colorado natives drive this road as a right-of-passage to take in the scenic views as they curve through the many switchbacks on the way to the top. Beware! The drive can be squeamish for those who are afraid of heights or are nervous that their vehicle comes so close to the edge of the road, close enough that when looking out the side windows, all you see is wide open space!
