Utilizing periodization in my training plans for archery was a huge advantage over the competition. Every other sport in the world uses periodization when building plans for serious athletes. We can use these methods in our sport of archery and use it for all levels of developing archers.

I will break down the basics of how periodization works to show you how you could benefit from implementing it into your archery practice schedule. The name of the game is to peak at tournaments but most "training plans" are not taking that into consideration. Use scientifically proven training methods that all other sports utilize to produce high performance at important events.
