I've always told people that masters mix needed to be sterilized not pasteurized, but it always bothered me that I had never ACTUALLY tried pasteurization. While I have heard several reports of people having success pasteurizing masters mix, my pasteurized MM blocks died a slow death due to bacterial contamination. Even an aggressive oyster strain and a high spawn rate resulted in failure. There are still some good lessons here though I think in detecting sawdust block stress, contamination, and good moisture management. Hope you find it interesting 👍
