How To Create A Minimalist Approach To Business
I don't know about you, but after doing this for 22 years, it's clear that running a business can be incredibly complex.
Does this sound familiar? You've got to make countless decisions and explore strategies and tactics that all need to come together for the business to succeed.
Successful business owners realize that from marketing and sales to operations and finance, numerous facets of a profitable business must be managed with precision.
I'm writing to share with you that I have found the most effective way to manage this complexity is by taking a minimalist approach – focusing on only what's essential while eliminating any unnecessary clutter.
This approach works extremely well in business AND life.
By applying minimalism principles to your business strategy, you can ensure maximum efficiency while achieving the goals you set when you started.
Here are three things you can start doing right now to simplify your business.
Reduce your "surface area."
Your surface area is your exposure to the outside world.
Think about how many ways people can get with you. How many email addresses are you managing? How many direct messaging platforms do you have? What about text messages? Community websites?
Allowing too much access to you from your social circle and clients can quickly deplete your time, focus, and energy.
Maintaining a sense of balance when it comes to communication is
important, as having too many channels open for contact can lead to burnout and overwhelm.
Not only that but you may be spread too thin trying to keep up with all the messages coming from different sources.
Do this: reduce your exposure and limit your surface area. Now, you've got to maintain communications with clients, but you get to set the rules.
Once you find the right balance, you will discover that having a small surface area will lead to happier clients who get better results from your successful business.
Leverage technology to handle repeat activities
One of the most successful clients I work with had a problem. Her clients always asked her the same questions, and the answers were always the same. The time it took to give the same answer over and over was frustrating.
So, we used technology to unlock a ton of time freedom by creating a Video FAQ page on her website. I think we made about 17 videos that answered the most common questions her clients had.
Creating a video FAQ section of your website is a great way to leverage technology and simplify your business.
Draw a line in the sand about meetings.
Ever heard the joke, "That meeting could have been an email?"
How many meetings are you in every week that are complete time-wasters? Take a hard look and consider what you could do with your time if you reduced the number of meetings you attended.
For me, it was networking meetings. While I enjoy networking, it became clear that the virtual-networking environment is full of people who want to "take" instead of contribute and collaborate.
My biggest tip is to look at each activity as a building block and ask yourself, "Is this moving me in the direction of my goals? Can I measure it?"
The answer might surprise you.
Get rid of the things that don't.
Here’s The Bottom Line.
It’s true.
Simplifying your business will pay off big.
Just not in the way you are used to.
And it takes time and persistence.
But once you start, you'll see that it can help your business like nothing before.
And if you want something like that,
You Will Love This News.
Every month, I offer a select few people the opportunity to work with me for a week on growing your business …FREE.
This is a genuinely free offer, and there are no strings attached.

Here’s The “Catch” You Think Is Coming.
There are two.
First, I can’t work with just anybody. You’ve got to be a good fit.
There are some requirements that you need to meet. The most important is that you are a real business. It’s OK if you are starting out. And you can’t be doing anything the “authorities” might frown upon.
The second is that this is very limited and very time sensitive …for a reason.
I keep these groups small so that I can give you my personal attention and make sure you get all your questions answered.
I really just want to see you get results.
So the free spots are granted on a “first-come” basis.
