Life is like a game of snakes and ladders. We long for the ladders but it's the snakes that create life's greatest opportunities. Graham Shelton failed to get into a good school, failed to achieve First Class Honours at university, failed to obtain a tenured academic post and fell out with his first business partner.
He studied at the University of St Andrews, graduating with Honours and PhD degrees. His early life was spent teaching at the University of Oxford and Exeter College Oxford, publishing more than 20 academic papers. He then moved into academic publishing where he became a self-taught expert in healthcare communications, ultimately starting and running two companies serving the pharmaceutical industry. He is currently Chairman of Oxford PharmaGenesis Limited, a 23-year-old company employing some 420 people on three continents, turning over £50 million annually and growing at more than 20% a year.
