ACCIONA commemorates the centenary of its oldest hydroelectric power plant this year: the Seira power plant, located on the banks of the Ésera river, in the Huesca region of Ribagorza (Spain). Its construction between 1912 and 1918 was a decisive boost to the development of the area. One hundred years later, it continues to produce renewable energy equivalent to the annual consumption of some 20,000 homes. The power station is a valuable exponent of civil engineering at the beginning of the 20th century. In this video, made expressly for the centenary, the history of the center is explained with the support of magnificent images of the time that give an idea of the challenges and difficulties that had to be overcome during the work. Do not miss the testimonies of people linked to such an exciting story.
