It is really amazing to me the manufacturing quality of the counterfeit watches there, not different from the real ones. If this is the case, is it legit for the big watch companies to charge their customers that premium given the manufacturing cost is definitely low? If this is the case, why should customers pursue for a real Rolex watch to support the so-called brand comparing using a well-run counterfeit?
It is interesting to me how the watches market is and how it is fragmented and losing its power. Despite I do appreciate the beauty, mechanics, perfection, ideology that the big brands put into the market and their historical efforts, it seems to me still hard to justify how much they charge for the brand premium. I love Audemars Piguet, but I am not obsessed with owning one. The high-end watch market probably will still track enough customers to grow however I see from the good quality counterfeit that the middle and low end watches are gonna fail and drop. The manufacturers are catching up quickly.
