We sat with Dr. Ian Hodder to discuss his latest book. Where are we heading? The evolution of humans and things.
 
Dr Hodder teaches and writes about archaeological method and theory. He is a Professor at the department of anthropology at Stanford University.
He’s written 12 books and he joined us to discuss his take on human evolution through the lense of things. 
 
Where are we heading? provides a fascinating take on human evolution aimed at explaining the intricate relationships we develop with materials and things, something Dr. Hodder refers to human-things entanglements.
 
He arrives at his own theory using archaeological evidence and exploring the history of common materials like fire, wheat, the wheel, cotton, and opium, to describe human evolution and its directionality based on our ever-increasing mutual dependency with these materials and things.
