Josh had never heard of engineering in high school. He liked electronics and was good with computers, so when he was deciding on what degree to choose, he picked engineering. This presentation will cover his personal journey from high school to graduation and beyond. Josh will talk about what engineering is, and the variety of avenues you can pursue if you choose engineering as a career. He will also highlight subjects he studied in both high school and his degree, and how they contribute towards his day-to-day work as an Radio Frequency Engineer. Having only finished his studies 2.5 years ago, Josh will offer students a fresh perspective on a career in Engineering and will engage students with a youthful perspective of the industry.
Josh studied a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering, and graduated with Class 1, Honours. He is now a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer at BAE Systems Australia. As an RF Engineer, he works on a variety of defence projects in a variety of engineering roles supporting the
RAAF, Navy and Army. He gets to work on the latest warships, military communications and satellite systems all over Australia.
