Pete Townshend used his Rickenbacker 1993 12-String model for the album 'My Generation'. It was an export version of the 360/12 model that George Harrison, Roger Mcguinn and Carl Wilson played. Basically the same guitar
Here I'm using my 1999 Rickenbacker 360/12v64 with replacement Scatterwound Toaster Pickups. I'm running it into my 1965 Fender Bassman head and cab. Mic'd with a Neumann TLM-103
Pete used a 1964 Blonde Fender Bassman head and cab (sometimes into Marshall cabs) for the My Generation album. Mine is black panel as opposed to blonde, which produces a louder cleaner and brighter sound
I'm also using my Analogman King of Tone overdrive pedal into an Analogman Small Comprossor (compressor) pedal to get that crunch heard on the record. You might notice I adjust the volume knob of the bridge pickup to get more or less dirt. This is something Pete did frequently live
