Double Whammy!
Two jackals were safely rescued from inside a 20 ft well near Baramati by the RESQ EcoDaund Team. Each month brings with itself a surge in certain type of animal accidents. Rise in the mercury is directly proportionate to animals falling down wells in search of water. Just like these two jackals who were reported by the locals and observed pacing around in the well trying to get out. After a quick assessment, the RESQ team member climbed down the well, captured one jackal in a butterfly net, and gently prodded the other to enter the trap cage. That way both were pulled out to safety and since neither looked sick or injured, they were taken to a safe spot nearby and released immediately.
