South African runner Caster Semenya has brushed off the controversy surrounding her legal battle with athletics' governing body after a dominant 800m win in Doha. 'Life is fantastic,' she said, denying rumours she would retire. 'I want to inspire the world – I want to show them nothing is impossible.'
The Court of Arbitration for Sport's ruling this week means she will have to take testosterone-reducing medication to continue competing on the international stage.
