This is another arrangement I worked together with @JasperHu. He did the main arrangement and my job is basically to check and give suggestion or ideas for him to try and edit. And also I need to make it the best way for myself to play comfortably. I invited him this time to write the description (bit lazy and tired from recording and editing).
The original music has many outstanding features: the complexity in rhythm (syncopation in 12/8 signature giving a 8/8 character), the rich texture, the interweaving melodic lines of different instruments (particularly, that acoustic guitar!), the contrast between intro/outro and the middle section, etc. We tried our best to keep as many instruments as possible, and it presents great challenge to distribute these voices between both hands while retaining the characters of the original instruments.
0:00 I struggled with the crescendo in strings, and decided to accommodate by delaying the bass notes. I was not sure how to deal with the cymbals, but Scott seemed okay with fast left hand jumps -- which I ruled out at first owing to the fast tempo.
0:26 So many things are heppening here. Initially I didn't even try to keep the ostinato when electric guitars came in, but Scott figured it out and it worked surprisingly well! In the last bar of the section Scott suggested replacing the electric guitar voice with arpeggios to push the music into the next stage.
0:42 Here it seems we have an electric guitar and a Guzheng playing two diffrent ostinatos simultaneously. It was funny how Scott's ears and mine prioritised different instruments on first encounter; ofc we only kept one of them.
0:49 Typical j-pop arrangement. Melody played with octaves on right hand, broken chords on left hand reflecting the drumset, plus arpeggios filling in the gap. This culminates in another storm of fast left hand jumps imitating the tempestuous drumset. Boy, I love that last C7(#9)!
1:08 The ostinato in piano returns, and a Chinese Dizi brings a cantabile of serenity from which the strings blossom. Similar difficulties and similar solutions as with the intro.

For those wonder why I don't release the sheet music for free anymore,
I will still release those easy arrangements. But for those complicated/difficult piece, I will not release the Sheet Music for free until there is a certain amount of views. Simply because I put quite a lot of efforts for those difficult/long arrangements. It's not easy to arrange sth which is suitable (or actually sounds good) for real playing on piano (or digital piano). Besides, I need to find the most pianistic way to write. (I'm not saying my arrangements are great. Just want to say it takes longer than you thought to arrange, record and edit the video.)
