Unfortunately the dog in this video died instantly on impact.
The dog appeared from the wooded area to the right of the dual carriageway after chasing a pheasant. The pheasant appeared just before the dog did, but can't be seen in the video.
Once the pheasant had gone I then saw the dog, braked, but it was to late for the car to my left of which the dog appeared in the blind spot from the A pillar, hence their late breaking.
The front of the car was destroyed, after recently having some front end work completed due to another accident, and the dog died instantly with a lot of it's insides hanging out.
The dog was laid to rest at the side of the dual carriageway when I went back to clean debris off the road.
