NSW Premier Chris Minns is visiting Moree in the state’s north-west today as the town battles a youth crime wave.
Mr Minns is set to announce a new diversionary program for young people deemed at risk in Moree, with the aim to channel their energy into sport and away from crime.
He will be joined by NRL heavyweights, including executives, and South Sydney stars Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker.
Moree Mayor Mark Johnson says the announce to come is "great" and is one of the many initiatives the Premier has instigated to cope with youth crime in regional NSW.
"Rugby League's a very big, important part of our town and to have Latrell and Cody here along with Peter V'landys is just amazing."
