This episode, the fifth in the Crohn's disease web series on this channel, features a discussion with my sister Katy; a mental health professional. Chronic illnesses, like Crohn's disease, ulcerative Colitis, and IDB affect every part of our lives including our mental health.

Join me and Katy, as we sit down to discuss the impact of chronic illness on our mental health. We discuss the guilt and shame attached to canceling plans, the importance of walking for physiological reasons as well as mental health reasons, the benefits of seeking the help of a mental health professional, and why those with IDB have been shown to have higher instances of depression & anxiety. For those also suffering from IBD expect videos in this series to cover surgeries I've had, my experience with colonoscopies, MRIs and going to battle with insurance over Remicade infusions. Additional collaborations with my sister a mental health professional, a yogi on Ayurveda and Crohn's, and other family members on their experiences related to my journey with chronic illness, specifically for me Crohn's disease.
