"Hi, this is Steve from JR Dunn Jewelers and today I just wanted to discuss one of the most commonly asked questions I get from my customers and that is "How do I clean my John Hardy jewelry?"
So, a lot of people think that you need some type of special cleaning solution or a machine but in actuality all you really need is this, the John Hardy cleaning cloth. It comes with each one of your John Hardy pieces and basically, it's really easy, it'll do wonders for your unique pieces, so let's demonstrate.
Take the cloth, take your beautiful John Hardy piece, you just polish and get rid of all the tarnishing. Let's get a close-up on that you can see the difference between the two: this side and on that side you can see there's still a little bit of tarnishing left on here so let’s go ahead and polish that.
Now, they do recommend that you do this each time you wear the jewelry obviously I know a lot of people don't have the time to do that but it is beneficial, if you know just before at night you just give it a quick rub that'd be the best way. If you do let it sit for a while and you're having trouble getting some of the more difficult dirt off, they recommend you use a mild cleaning solution like soap and water. To help loosen up the dirt a little bit, just let it sit in the soap and water for a brief amount of time and some warm water and then scrub it with the toothbrush to loosen up some of the dirt, you don't want to get rid of that oxidation and then let it dry off and then go ahead and just wipe it off with the cloth, that's a very simple. But if you do a little bit of daily maintenance, maybe even every other day, and just wipe it with the cloth you should be fine."
