This season, Karl Lagerfeld and co. have decided to go for mathematician as the inspiration for Fendi's Spring/Summer 2012 collection. At the same time, Silvia Venturini Fendi says another inspiration for the collection this season was an Italian neurologist named Rita Levi-Montalcini who won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1986. Whatever the inspiration, the collection was practical, feminine, but fashionable as well in that signature Fendi style that makes dressing academic a stylish concept mixing both sexy, sophistcated, and a little bit madcap as models like Arizona Muse and Candice Swanepoel came down the runway in boxy jackets, skirts with patches, and fur amidst a large Fendi compass in the background.
