Inspired by the theme of this year’s World Day Against Trafficking in Persons: “Victims’ Voices Lead the Way” – Kendall Alaimo created a painting for the global campaign against human trafficking. The lips and megaphones symbolize survivors’ voices. Other elements highlight the importance of housing, education, justice, economic equity, community and stopping the demand for human trafficking.
American Artist Kendall Alaimo creates paintings, performances and sculptural installations. Kendall has worked with artists from around the globe and feels the multi-cultural perspectives and studio critiques are an asset to her practice. She is a lover of polka-dots, children's illustrations, plastics and other various synthetic materials. She believes in using art as a catalyst to create dialog around human trafficking. Though vividly colourful, her work illustrates her own darker history of child trafficking. She has an interest in exploring themes of traumatic re-processing and memory.
