We collaborated with @plasticsoupsurfer (Merijn Tinga) to help his mission to get rid of disposable cups. In the Netherlands alone, 5 million disposable cups are used every morning.
At Flite, we’re all about cleaner quieter waterways and loved his idea to build a custom Fliteboard using disposable cups in order to Fliteboard from Brussels to Amsterdam - a distance of 385kms (which is the distance of 5mill disposable cups lined in a row).
Merijn did a great job raising awareness and engaging with policy and decision makers, speaking with EU Commissioner Frans Timmermans, Secretary of State Ms. Heijnen, local politicians, entrepreneurs and many more. Thanks for the inspiration @plasticsoupsurfer
