By default, the power (+12v, -5v and +5v) are always available on the RAM's socket. So, inserting a fragile DRAM chip when these voltages are live is very risky. I've created a mod for enabling the power only during the test. I used the simple circuit board with a relay from one of my Arduino kits. The signal to activate the relay is coming from D12.
