May 15, 2016. First visit to the Parc Clichy-Batignolles - Martin Luther King in Paris, France. This video was taken from the observation platform in the middle of this very cool park in the 17th arrondissement.
An additional 3.5 hectares will open to the public in 2018, bringing the total size to nearly 11 hectares - making it the 8th largest park in Paris and the largest green space in the 17th arrondissement.
I've found in my travels that France takes much better care of their citizens than the government of the United States, which is where I live. Most famously by giving all full-time workers a minimum of 36 days of paid vacation and holidays per year (not to mention they only have a 35-hour work week) which is insanely generous when compared to what the United States offers which is ZERO days. That's correct. The US government does not require it's employers to offer ANY paid vacation or holidays, although most (77% of private employers) do offer at least some paid days off.
The parks in Paris (and other French cities) are another example of the French government's generosity. Paris is full of parks big and small that have places to play soccer, basketball, tennis and all kinds of other sports...jungle-gyms, playgrounds, sandpits, carousels, bumper cars, merry-go-rounds, art installations, statues, water features, food and beverage vendors, games of chance and skill, table tennis and chess tables, trees, flowers and shrubbery of every imaginable kind and the list goes on and on.
Not all parks in Paris have all of these things, but all parks in Paris have several of these things. You simply cannot help but be impressed by the parks in Paris!
