The Kashmir Valley has experienced a drastic shift in its weather for the last three days. Records indicate that this winter's heaviest snowfall happened Monday, causing disruption in tourist destinations like Sonmarg and skier's paradise Gulmarg. In Sonmarg alone, snow accumulation has reached beyond four feet. Gulmarg followed with a measure of two feet. Consequently, the severe cold wave persists in the valley despite potential weather improvements. Major roads such as the Srinagar Punch and Mughal have been closed to vehicular traffic due to significant snow accumulation. Sonmarg Road, in particular, is blocked due to heavy snowfall causing it to be near about four feet high. As reported by Ashraf Ghani for India Today, Monday evening saw a snowstorm in Sonmarg Valley, resulting in further snow accumulation and closure of the tourist destination. This unanticipated weather change has impacted the regular flow of activities in the Kashmir Valley. #KashmirSnowfall #WeatherChange #SevereColdWave #RoadClosure #IndiaToday
