A few things regarding the maps, flags and pronunciation of words in this video:
Maps on this region at this point in time are relatively inconsistent when it comes to detail, and not very good. I'm also
(admittedly), not the best mapper.
These maps aren't meant to be perfect, but to give a good idea of the borders that existed at the time.
Pronunciation of Ethiopian vocabulary is horrible by the way. This video has some relatively old audio (I made and edited it
nearly a month ago). That'll be something to work on in the future.
Finally, on flags. I've been told to use a different flag by some commenters. Feedback like this is generally appreciated.
For this video, I've switched to using Menelik's flag to represent Ethiopia.

The idea of a Nile Valley empire is persistent in Egyptian politics, and Isma'il Pascha is finally ready to give it a shot. In order for the empire to rise, he must conquer the Ethiopians, whose homeland contains the beginning of the Blue Nile at Lake Tana. He thinks Ethiopia is a primitive Empire and an easy pushover. He is in for a treat, as the Ethiopian Empire, recently reunified under Emperor Yohannes IV, possesses a formidable military armed with competent firepower. Emperor Yohannes is more than ready to repel invasion. The first major battle of the invasion occurs at Gondet, and, well, the rest is history.
