Andrew Wasson of Creative Guitar Studio answers a viewers question...
Q: My biggest issue is being able to play outside of the open position. I've studied the, "C.A.G.E.D Theory," because I'd like to be able to play rhythm guitar higher up the neck. But, for some reason I'm just not getting the system. How do I solve taking open chord progressions into higher fret-board areas? This is a serious, "chord problem," for me. I hope you'll consider making a video on applying this. Thanks.
Kenny -- Carson City, NV. USA
A: In this video I'll do my very best to help with defining the real application of, and not just the theory behind the C.A.G.E.D. system. During the lesson, I want to dig into the actual application of how we can take the common open chords and use them as a foundation for heading up higher along our guitar neck with a system to apply the same chord qualities as our open chords. If you're not familiar with the CAGED system, I'd suggest first watching my Guitar Theory lesson, titled, "The "CAGED" System." The link is below.
