Immersive walking tour of downtown Lisbon, Portugal, telling the incredible story of the 1755 Lisbon earthquake! The 1755 Lisbon earthquake, the largest known earthquake to impact Europe, and one of the most devastating earthquakes ever recorded, struck Lisbon on the morning of Saturday, November 1, All Saints' Day. In combination with subsequent fires and a tsunami, the earthquake almost completely destroyed Lisbon and adjoining areas. Its epicenter was in an area known as the Gorringe Bank, along the Africa-Eurasia tectonic plate boundary.
