We, the Ground Zero "Koronadal" did this dance piece not only to inspire the people of South Cotabato, but also to enlighten thier minds and thoughts that a HIPHOP is not about funny, comedy, drama, or a showtime type...
HIPHOP has a different street dance styles.. Each street dance style requires proper execution and discipline in respect to its origin, and putting the right manner of expression.
ON HIP HOP @ the 14th T'NALAK FESTIVAL
Congratulations Ground Zero!
The Ground Zero on the night of the competition showed the people what dancing is all about. They entered the floor without any fuzz but poured out their hearts at the first beat of their music. They won it for hardwork, discipline, and undying commitment to their craft. What makes them a standout on the eve of the competition was, they've got the moves and owned it well. They dominated the dance floor and stood for what they believe.
On my part, to be sitted alongside with formidable people who are experts on dance technique, movement and composition was an experience of a lifetime. The festival committee did the right thing in introducing "focus judging" - a specific judge was assigned to write a score earned for a specific criteria. Competitors earned that miniscule points from my card for visual appeal and effective costuming.
Be that as it may, I always see them as outstanding people whose art and dance make them live. I have loved them and will always be regardless of my philosophical disagreements with their respective handlers.
Keep on dancing and always do it for the greater glory of God!
Mabuhay ang South Cotabato!
-----.not a speech but an honest to goodness review of GZ performance on that hotly contested segment of the 14th t'nalak festival. Not the showtime type but a performance by artists "MR. DWIGHT DE LEON" :))
