Jake Keen, a previous Time Team expert is interviewed by series producer Tim Taylor. Jake is an expert in experimental archaeology and iron smelting techniques. They discusses his work on last week’s Teatime episode - Beauport Park, and the challenges of building a smelting furnace in just three days! Jake explains metalwork through the ages, how it varies across the world and tells us of some of his favourite examples... a fascinating chat not to be missed!
