Not only are women of colour in developing countries the first to be affected by the lack of energy access, but they are also less represented in the energy sector and are left behind in the energy decision-making process. It is therefore critical to act now to have their voices heard.
This talk was recorded live on 16 October 2021 at TEDxCIFE in Nice. Nadiya Nair and Lucia Kamati have been working within the energy sector for the past couple of years and their work experience has allowed them to gain working experience in over 5 different countries across 3 different continents, but their success didn’t come without struggles.
They believe as women of colour that they should be the voice for the next generation. They are working together to pave the way to allow more women like them the right to education and also inspire them to join the energy sector. As young career professionals, they are currently co-creating a platform that will connect women of colour around the world to find opportunities within the energy industry but at the same, to find their voices within and grow towards their dreams! This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
