This presentation was hosted by U.S. Pain Foundation’s National Director of Policy & Advocacy Cindy Steinberg and featured guest speaker Dr. Vanila Singh, the Former U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) Chief Medical Officer and the chair of the HHS Pain Management Best Practices Inter-Agency Task Force (PMTF).
This discussion touched on the impact Covid has had on people with chronic pain and give you the tools and knowledge you need to advocate for vital care. The pandemic has caused a disruption and fragmentation of care and led to further isolation for people with pain. Now more than ever, there is a tremendous need for the type of pain care called for in the PMTF report—access to a full range of multidisciplinary treatments and better coordination of these treatments to tackle chronic pain.
Dr. Singh and Steinberg addressed these issues and explained how you can contact your representatives in Congress to help secure better pain care for the 50 million Americans who live with pain.
