ANDY LAU OPENS UP
Hong Kong magazine "East Weekly" reported that singer/actor Andy Lau is set to get married in next month with his Malaysian girlfriend Carol Chu in Kuala Lumpur. The couple was reported to have two children.
After keeping silent for a week, Lau said he was shocked by the story whilst at an album promotion event in Hong Kong on Sunday.
"All I can say is that I will tell you lots of things. A magazine reported that I am married and has kids, now I can tell everybody peacefully that if you believe the report, just believe it, if you choose to believe in me, I say thank you." Lau said in a press conference.
Andy Lau, one of the biggest heartthrobs in Asia has made more than 100 films. His latest films included 'The Warlord", "Prot�g�", "House of Flying Daggers" and "Look for a star". His musical career began in 1988, Lau has a huge fan base in Asia.
"If I have a child or am married, I will let you know via my own channel. I had said that for many times. In fact, I had seen all the message on the internet, I was moved by those kindly feelings." Lau said.
Lau made the simple statement in the interview without verifying or denying the report. He didn't respond to the marriage story which East Weekly reported on February 25.
Lau had kept his private life exactly that for two decades, during a concert in last year, Lau asked his fans if idols could have girlfriends and get married. The audience greeted the question with applause.
