Thailand wants to back down. Just 18 months after the country became the first in Asia to decriminalize cannabis, it is now planning to ban it for recreational use. This is reported by “CNN”. Thanks to the relaxed laws, a lucrative marijuana industry has developed. But since the new conservative government came to power, stricter rules have been considered. They only want to allow medical uses with cannabis.
Cannabis only for medicine
The health authority has already presented a draft law. This provides for heavy fines and up to a year in prison for violations. The draft clearly states that marijuana and products made from it should only be used for medicine and health.
