Frans van Houten, CEO van Philips en initiatiefnemer van de Philips Innovation Award (PHIA) luidt de gong om aandacht te vragen voor het feit dat innovatie onmisbaar is.
De PHIA is een landelijke ondernemersprijs voor studentondernemers met een innovatief idee, georganiseerd door studenten van de Erasmus Universiteit. Iedere student kan zich aanmelden door het aanleveren van een businessplan. Oud winnaars van de PHIA zijn onder andere Senz Umbrella (de stormparaplu) en Flux (de opvouwbare meubels). De winnaar van de finaledag in mei zal een mooie prijs bestaande uit consultancy uren, juridisch advies, verzekeringsadvies en een extra geldprijs ontvangen.

Frans van Houten, CEO of Philips and the founder of the Philips Innovation Award (PHIA), sounds the gong to highlight the importance of innovation.
The PHIA is a national business prize, organised by students of the Erasmus University, for student entrepreneurs with an innovative idea. Any student can submit a business plan to the competition. Former winners of the PHIA include Senz Umbrella (storm umbrellas) and Flux (foldable furniture). The winner announced on the final day of the competition in May will receive a prize made up of consultancy hours, legal and insurance advice, and a cash amount.
