On behalf of Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka and Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose members of the Newark Police and Fire divisions arrived at three area hospitals today in a vigorous show of support to healthcare workers fighting on the front lines against the Coronavirus pandemic.
Led by Newark Chief of Police Darnell Henry and Chief of Fire Rufus L. Jackson, doctors, nurses and other medical professionals at University Hospital, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and St. Michael’s Medical Center received a well-deserved round of applause from members of the Newark Department of Public Safety during the event.
Newark Police Captain Christopher Gialanella represented the Department of Public Safety by expressing sincere gratitude for the sacrificial and arduous work the personnel at each hospital are doing to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
University Hospital Chief Operating Officer Eve Borzon thanked Police and Firefighters for joining medical workers in the fight against the Coronavirus. Newark Beth Israel’s Chief Executive Officer Darrell Terry said “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” to the Newark Department of Public Safety on behalf of his staff. And St. Michael’s Chief Executive Officer Robert Iannaccone wholeheartedly acknowledged Police and Firefighters for their service to the residents of Newark.
