The Courtois 420BH Challenger II large bore tenor trombone, the predecessor to the current 420 Legend series, was built in the 1990's and was inspired by the Bach 42 Stradivarius, designed to encapsulate many of Courtois' sensibilities in a Bach-style package. Courtois was going though many changes during this time period and so this model is not often seen, especially in the US. While it doesn't feel as Bach-like as the Legends there is an almost-instinctual responsiveness and slightly-broader French sound to it that is very appealing; take a listen and let us know what you think!
