Have you seen that drone shot of Lachung ? a serene beauty from North Sikkim. From Chungthang, the road towards Lachung is beautiful. I would recommend, take and extra day and enjoy the beauty of Lachung. We stayed at Tangkarla Home stay. The owner was so friendly and well behaved. We were charged 1300 per head for 3 meals and lodging.
Start early morning from Yumthang Valley and Zero Point. The whole patch is maintained by BRO, and obviously, the road is buttery smooth almost 80-85% and picturesque. With little bit of luck you may have snow in Zero Point, but also depends how you want to see the mountains, for me I love to have a clear sky if available.
The river flows by Zero Point gets wilder in Yumthang and adds more beauty to it. You would love to spend a lot of time just beside the river and staring at the mountains for hours. Go, give it a try by yourself.
