A supermaxi yacht narrowly avoided disaster when squeezing through two patrol boats during Sydney’s Big Boat Challenge shortly after the race commenced.
Drone footage captured the Scallywag’s near collision with a NSW Roads and Maritime Services patrol boat, which was present to assist with traffic control on the water, according to a Sydney Morning Herald report.
The skipper of the yacht was reportedly livid at the NSW RMS as significant hull damage would’ve jeopardized their entry in the annual Sydney to Hobart race. The boat placed third overall.
