Dr. Aledie Navas from Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando tells parents they can help their child control asthma symptoms by attending all follow-up doctor appointments (even if a child seems okay) and following the prescribed Asthma Action Plan as closely as possible. The Asthma Action Plan outlines what to do when your child is feeling well, not so great or very sick. She says it makes a big impact on quality of life when parents understand the Asthma Action Plan and don’t wait until their child is very sick to see the doctor.
