About 6 weeks ago I replaced my AC compressor in my 2012 Mercedes GL 350 Bluetec (X164) and I didn't film it, but because it is such a helpful vehicle, it decided to help me remedy that by spitting its contents out during the hottest week of the summer. Parts arrived in time for last weekend and this video includes tips and tricks for replacing an AC compressor on a 3.0L Mercedes OM642 diesel engine. It is not a terrible job, took about half a day using hand tools, all refrigerant connections were 6mm allen keys and the compressor itself is held on by 3 E12 bolts. Also included in the video is the replacement of the receiver/dryer and the evacuation and recharge of the system.
