Traditional Bengali Chaler Payesh is prepared using gobindobhog rice which has a short grain and a pleasing aroma. Gobindobhog rice has buttery taste which makes it perfect to be used while making Traditional Bengali Chaler Payesh.
Gobindobhog rice blends quite well with ghee, full cream milk, sugar and dry fruits to enhance the overall taste of Traditional Bengali Chaler Payesh. Mostly, Traditional Bengali Chaler Payesh is eaten after a proper Bengali meal and it is best to serve it chilled. However, it can be eaten hot as well if you prefer. Here’s the ingredients:
i) 500 ml Liquid Milk
ii) 1/4 Cup Powder Milk
ii) 1/3 Cup Gobindobhog Rice/ Flavored Rice
iii) 1/3 Cup Sugar
iv) 1 pieces of Rock Sugar/Misri
v) Dry Fruits
vi) 4 Tablespoon Ghee
vii) 3 pieces of Cardamom
