This is a little different than the gospel music I usually post but I enjoy good organ music so here you go.
Who knew that the Hammond organ could go so well with Latin American rhythms? Ethel Smith definitely did. In this recording, she seamlessly merges the quick action of the organ into the percussive, syncopated rhythm of Latin America. Miss Smith was really quite the cosmopolitan lady. She spoke several languages fluently and acted in several films. Although she was most famous on the Hammond Organ, she could also play the guitar quite well. Putting it simply, she could do it all.
NOTE: All the music I post comes from my personal LP collection of over 300 record albums. I pick the songs I like and digitize them, updating the sound and getting rid of the pops and crackles LPs are known for. However, I try to preserve the sound quality so you're not listening to some tinny MP3 rendition.
