I love creating musical backdrops to Ian's songs through my violin and harp parts, and occasionally, I also get to create visual media for our album art and show posters. For the song Orange Sky, I thought I'd try my hand at creating moving images out of my traditionally still forms of visual communication. Taking my cues from the lyrical content, this video uses photography, stop motion animation, paper cut, puppetry, and sculpture to explore the concept of memory. What makes our memories live and breath? What abstractions do we create to summarize our experience? How far are our memories from the truth? Are our own remembrances a form of truth and life? I picked some pretty big concepts for my first foray into this medium....I hope you enjoy the results.
All photography, drawings, paper cuts, sculpture, etc. created and edited by Katie Mosehauer.
