Edo State House of Assembly has commenced consideration of the anti-human trafficking bill and the setting up of taskforce to prosecute offenders.
Following the presentation of the report by the Chairman House Committee on Women Affairs, Christopher Okaiben, the house swung into action for the immediate consideration of the human trafficking bill.
Few sections were considered, especially the area of the functionality of bill, workability of the legal framework among others.
The Speaker, Kabiru Adjoto reported progress to the entire house after returning from the committee of the whole.

Meanwhile, the speaker Kabiru Adjoto has adjusted the House standing committees with the member representing Owan West, Ojo Aisien, who was elevated to a member of the POC and made the Chairman, House Committee on Finance.
The member representing Uhunwonde, Elizabeth Ativie is now chairman of House Committee on Women Affairs.
Also at plenary, the Speaker and other members congratulated the newly elected Local Government Chairmen under the platform of APC and enjoined them to brace up for the task ahead of them.
The house also received a bill from the state governor on the establishment of Edo State Development Property Agency.
