IPPC 2023: The untapped potential of plasma and plasma-derived therapies - Past, current and future outlook
The plasma industry has undergone enormous progress and development since the initial discovery of purification of proteins from human plasma by Cohn in the 1950's. Hence, it will address various aspects of progress, ongoing research and development and future-forward thinking in various areas such as manufacturing and pathogen safety. It will also address potential, new applications of existing treatments which could improve patients’ needs.
Finally, the presentation will highlight what innovation means for clinicians and patients, such as those living with immune deficiencies, and will extrapolate what might be possible in the future to improve their lives.
