✨We got the RV version where you can pause ⏸ your membership when you’re not in need of it, allowing us to also not have to be on the waitlist for a dish.
Purchasing: you just go to the Starlink website and select the standard dish or the RV version by browsing the tab. After purchase it took about 1 week to get the dish to the shipping address we provided. From there we used a shipping service to get the unit to us in Mexico.
Setup: So Easy! You just download the app, unbox the unit, plug & play. Once the unit is plugged in and app downloaded the app has you set the wifi name & password. You then connect to it and the unit powers on. From here you wait about 10-15 min while the dish does its thing.
App Info: All the info you need for testing (speed, range, visibility)is here and the app includes tabs for the Network, Statistics, Settings and Support. There’s a “Stow” mode to make the dish return to its original position and options to make the dish self heat for snow.
Speed test: you run it through the app, and the speed we were getting 168-201 Mbps, 39-54 Mbps upload, and 72 - 57 ms Latency. I downloaded a Netflix movie last night in 2-3 minutes 😝 (wayyyyyy better than what we’ve been dealing with down here 🤪)
Power Consumption: Were running a 400 watt inverter and it works to power it off our batteries and solar panel.
We left to the islands inside of the Sea of Cortez and plan to use it at anchor. We won’t have a permanent place for our Starlink on SV Rum Barrel until we have our dodger built.
I’ll be back to fill in more information here so save this reel and ask any questions you have here or DM and I’ll answer them 💖
We’re so excited!!!! P.S. this reel was uploaded with it 🥹🤪
