How to prepare limoncello at home - the traditional digestif from Southern Italy. Typically served after a meal, this lemon liquor has an incredible fresh & sweet taste, especially when prepared with lemons from the Italian Amalfi coast. But it will also taste great - or even better - with quality lemons from anywhere, if you use the right dose and if follow exactly the steps in this tutorial, the authentic recipe. In fact, in this video I am comparing the colors of this homemade limoncello with a standard limoncello that you can buy in every corner in Amalfi. Homemade is always better, trust me!
Good news: it is absolutely easy to prepare, if you follow the instructions in this video recipe. Important: You need to use quality organic lemons that have not received any treatment, as we will use the zest/skin of the lemons. And you need some patience, as the liquor will have to rest for some weeks... but it is fully worth it,! In Italy this liquor is usually prepared in fall to have it ready for the Christmas festivities, but it can be prepared (and consumed) all year long.
